Te Wairua Mahi
Ignatian Spirituality NZ offer Te Wairua Mahi, a course of Formation in the Ministry of Spiritual Direction in the Ignatian Tradition and Formation for Givers of the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius of Loyola.
In the language of the indigenous people of New Zealand Te Wairua Mahi means ‘the Spirit who works.’ ‘Mahi’ can also refer to ‘Exercise’ or ‘Practice’ therefore, ‘The Spirit who Exercises’ or ‘Spiritual Exercises’.
Te Wairua Mahi is thoroughly grounded in New Zealand – its land; its people; its spirituality. The course material offered is drawn from all that is available in the rich tradition of Ignatian Spirituality.
Ignatian Spirituality NZ provide the teaching team to deliver Te Wairua Mahi. Teaching faculty have a sense of call and commitment to the ministry of Spiritual Direction. They have been formed in the ministry of spiritual direction in the Ignatian tradition to a high standard. Teaching staff have also displayed an openness to the varied backgrounds of students and offer wisdom from their own broad life experience.
